Spring Fever

Well, it's that time of year again! Spring Fever is in fullllll motion! 

This week has been a difficult one for me. I remember the stress of teaching full time, I haven't forgotten. However, this time of transition for our family has left me really remembering why I started to teach in the first place. I've been substituting until I find a full time job. I really, really miss the classroom! I know we all have things we wish we could change about education...that will never change! Teachers do not get into teaching because of a paycheck. For most of us, it's something we've always wanted to do. I hope that this time of year isn't that hard on most of you, but it if is, just know you are in my thoughts & prayers. I pray for teachers to have hope and confidence in their job. I can remember complaining about the dumbest things about teaching, but right now, you have no idea how much I want to be back in my classroom the  kiddos. Just remember why you became a teacher in the first place, and I hope that will help you get through a difficult time of the year!

Spring Forward & Freebie!

I don't know about y'all...but I was not ready to "Spring Forward" this morning! We woke up, and hurried around to get ready for church, just to realize, our oldest..was sick :( Poor little thing has been feeling crummy all day and is passed out on the couch right now. A look back at my week, and a look ahead!

Hey Everyone! I'm linking up with Mrs. Wills Kindergarten for a Peek At My Week! 

 So for the first time in a LONG time, I've been back in the classroom as a *paid* employee! I've been volunteering since we've moved, and finally got everything settled to substitute! Up until now, I kinda had that thought slip into my head...if not teaching.... "What else could I do?" Well, this week those thoughts were put to rest. There is nothing else for me except education! My first week back, was pretty amazing. I was blessed to spend it right where my heart is---Primary Grades! What a blessing it was to have the roles reversed to substitute teaching. This is so different than I ever thought! A great experience for me and I'm excited to share my experiences with you all :) 

The kiddos were getting into fractions in math. I was so excited to be able to plan things out. I started with my sweet friend Jen @ The Teacher's Cauldron. Her Fraction Packet is ammmazing. The kiddos really benefited from all of the hands on activities included in this packet. I even brought it home and did a little extra practice with my little man. He loved the fraction action game! A great resource to have for teaching fractions! 

Another area we worked on this week was Long E. Who else could I count on none other than Cara Carroll! I was able to print out her Long-E-Kids-Stories-Sorts-Activities! I purchased this packet a while ago and didn't need it at the time, so I was excited to go back and dig through it. The great thing is I was able to put everything together so quickly.

Another amazing resource I used this week was from Thank God It's First Grade! Susan has amazing resources, and her Writing-Poetry-for-Primary-Grades is no different! This was another great resource for me to pull together so quickly!!!

TpT has completely changed the way I teach..in such a good way. These packets all include great resources and include such a variety of ways to assess our students learning. Such a huge part of our job, is measuring the learners progress. 

I'm *praying* so much right now that God has a plan for me since our move. I know that education is my destiny, it's just frustrating to have it so hard to find a position. I don't like to come off as I am complaining, because my family is definitely blessed. Thankfully, because of TpT, our family has been able to survive on one income. But it's not the pay check I miss...it's the kids, ah ha moments, the million questions, moments of pure learning, sweet laminating...oh wait, I got a little carried away. The point is, I miss all of it, and I'm glad to be back, even if it is as a substitute teacher. God is in control and I truly believe this.

My kiddos are so amazing! I love them so much! They are so energetic and keep me going ALL the time! Life never stops with boys in the house!!!

I love this water bottle that I got as a Christmas gift! I use it EVERYDAY!!

Of course-- Y'all know how much I love my country music! I found this gem in my CD collection the other day--I've been blaring it in the radio EVERY since!! haha! Who can resist KING GEORGE?!?!

Here is my latest freebie FREE-Addition-Math-Center That I just uploaded to TpT! 

I use it as a math center when my students are finished with their work. I simply printed on card stock, laminated, and secured with binder rings. Then, I store in a ziploc bag with dry erase markers and dice! My kiddos love this! 

My I Can Make Words  is getting great feedback from teachers of various grades! I love that you can differentiate it so easily! This packet includes 10 printables for making words. Students cut letters out and arrange them together to make words. 

*Places* I'm in LOVE WITH!

I'm  so totally in love with the...GYM! I know it sounds crazy, but every since I started my fitness journey, I have just really enjoyed getting the stress out with exercise! My favorite exercise has to be squats! I love them! More than that, I LOVE the results from killing it with squats!!!!

I am also really enjoying the dead lift--but don't tell my trainer! Haha! I might whine a tad when we have to do them! But all and all, exercise in general really excites me! My husband just started working out this week..He's went like three times and I've already had to run him outta the vitamin stores! I'm like baby steps hun, baby steps ;) He would buy every protein supplement if I would allow it! I'm like let's see how long it *last* before you go spend a bunch of money on something---does this sound familiar to anyone else ;) 

 I just can't wait to get to the place where I can really just start maintaining my weight and not having to diet as serious. That part, is NOT fun!
