Cruising Through Math and Literacy Mini Packet

I had a few requests for a "Cars" themed packet! So I began trying to create something different and something that would be useful to a variety of classrooms.


So I created this Cruising-Through-Math-and-Literacy-Mini-Packet !! This packet contains a variety of skills.

*Fill it up--Even & Odd Numbers Sort
*Expanded Form Number Match
*Doubles Addition Facts
*Sight Word Race
*Speedy Word Sort (Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives)



 I've included a place value center that uses expanded form to improve students skills.

I love this center because most centers available now only offer recognizing the actual place, and expanded form is a skill that some students really struggle with.

Blog Surfin for FREE Literacy Centers

Every summer I try and spend some time creating, buying and hunting for new literacy centers! I have found some ammmmmmazing centers out on the net and thought I'd share. I went through tons of blog archives on a mission...and here is what I found :) I found these mostly from blogs, but I linked directly to the TpT or file so that you didn't have to dig to find them!! Hope you can find something useful! I know I did!!!


I Love 2 Teach did a great post last year on using standard literacy centers. I like to use thematic ones, but sometimes it's also nice to have centers that the students are familiar with. I Love 2 Teach does a great job with this center! She created centers that can be used with any store. This is a great staple to any guided reading routine! Be sure to check it out at RIGHT HERE!

She did a Making Words, Spelling, Dictionary Dig, Poetry, Partner Reading,  Read and Respond, Comic Strip Story and Listen and Read Centers. These are great! They can be used for 2nd & 3rd grades :)

Favorite School Finds

So I know most of you are already in "Summer Vaca" mode..but not me...yet! Summer school is just about over! AS SOON as I am scheduled to be off, I am hitting the road and driving to my hometown! I can not wait! I plan to stay active in my blog while away!

Double-Sided-Magnetic-Money-I LOVE This and use it all the time in my classroom!!It is large and a great visual. Since we practice money  everyday in our morning routine, this is perfect :) No more taping plastic money to the board!!!

Another favorite-- Fiction-Reading-Comprehension-Cards-Grade-1- I love these cards! They are stored so nicely in a compact little box. The stories are great and the kids love them!!!
